Repeat Prescriptions

You may order a repeat prescription in writing by:

  • Post – please include SAE
  • Coming into the practice and filling out a repeat prescription form
  • Online

We cannot accept requests over the telephone – no matter what the circumstances. This is for your own safety and to avoid significant errors.

When requesting a repeat prescription please allow at least 72 hours for processing. (Patients’ medication is reviewed regularly, so you may have to see a doctor before receiving a repeat prescription).

We can send prescriptions electronically to a Pharmacy of your choice (this does not apply to certain medications) so please let the team know if you would like us to manage your prescriptions in this way. Alternatively, ask local pharmacies about their collection/delivery services for repeat prescriptions.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

Please allow three full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.
